If we look at the earth through the “glasses” of human reasoning—that only snail-paced present geological processes can explain the past—then the earth does indeed look old. However, that autonomous human reasoning blatantly denies what God’s Word clearly tells us.Theoretically, Creationism remains workable within a wide range of age estimates.Scientists have proposed numerous age estimation methods.Small particles of dust collected together into larger and larger objects – pebbles, rocks, boulders, etc – until there were many planetoids in the Solar System. These planetoids collided together and eventually enough came together to become Earth-sized.
The Carbon-14 age estimating method is, at best, only useful for estimating the age of things that are thousands of years old, not millions or billions.
Scientists think that the Earth is 4.54 billion years old.
Coincidentally, this is the same age as the rest of the planets in the Solar System, as well as the Sun.
The present speed of recession of the moon is known.
If one multiplies this recession speed by the presumed evolutionary age, the moon would be much farther away from the earth than it is, even if it had started from the earth.
